Belgica 355ml, 7.2% - USA

Light amber color with no head, even after a hard pour.

Sour, citrus smell with some Belgian yeast in the background.

I get citrus with the first sip, then a light hit full of spices. Hoppy aftertaste with a pleasant bitterness.

Interesting combination by Great Divide.

Urthel Hop-It 750ml, 9.5% - Belgium

Bright orange, with a two finger whipped cream head. A lot of settlement in the glass. Lacing is showing after the beer settles.

Strong citrus smell, very refreshing and light.

Now this is a true Belgian taste! Very fruity, lot's of spices, pepper is noticeable, yeasty, some apples.

What an amazing beer this is! I just love it. It's now officially one of my top favorites!

I also got this original Urthel coaster.

Piraat 330ml, 10.5% - Belgium

I've always wanted to try this beer, the name and that pirate ship made it so interesting for me. So, I finally tried it.

Poured into a Leffe glass, I don't have a tulip. Will buy one tomorrow, hopefully. Crispy two finger head which settled very fast. Good body, slightly dark orange color.

Smell is very fresh and inviting. Contains spices, a touch of lemon and a little sense of alcohol.

Sweet taste of honey which blends fast into a hoppy bitter after taste.

This is a typical Belgian strong blond with 10.5% ABV. Something you should drink slowly and enjoy.

Hopus 330ml, 8.3% - Belgium

This was reviewed as one of the best beers of 2008, so I definetaly had to give this a go. And of course for it's fancy pants bottle.

Poured into a Kronenburg 1664 glass, it's the closest I have to a Hopus glass. The foam is just amazing, two finger, cream white. Took quite some time to settle with lacing around, looks like a marshmallow floating in a glass. Now that's what I call quality.

Smell doesn't reflect any hops, although there should be five varieties of them. I smell yeast and no alcohol.

The taste is pretty good and it gets better after each sip. Citrus at first and ends with a tiny touch of bitterness. At 8.3% this doesn't taste alcohol at all.
